1.  Why Should I Use a Designer?

Our training and expertise will help you save time and money by expediting the design process, providing your general contractors with what they need when they need it, and reducing the stress of the experience on you and your family.  An educated NKBA designer has studies space planning, ergonomics, building codes, construction techniques, properties of materials, drafting, lighting design, color theory, and design styles.  We have taken courses specifically on kitchen and bath design and we continually educate ourselves in the most current trends and newest products.  The end result is a cohesive design executed as smartly as possible.

2.  Does Gaia Do Free Initial Consultations?

No.  We understand that some do, but we feel that some of the most important work we do occurs during that initial consultation.  You wouldn't expect to go to a doctor or a lawyer for a free consult, and the time and effort we have put into learning our craft are valuable.  We do however guarantee that you will get your money's worth.

3.  How Much Does It Cost to Remodel a Kitchen or Bath?

That's very difficult to say.  The cost can vary greatly depending on the size of the room, the materials chosen, labor rates, and so on.  As a VERY rough rule, a small bath using the quality of materials we feel comfortable using typically starts at about $15,000, and can go up to well over $50,000 if you want it to.  A small and simple kitchen could perhaps be done for $50,000, but the room size and choices of appliances, cabinets, stone, etc., can easily drive costs up to over $100,000.

4.  What Is The Best Way To Work With Gaia?

If you enjoy the design and product selection process, and have the time required to do all the research and management of the project, Hourly is probably the way to go.  We can help with the layout, general design direction, or whatever pieces of the project you feel a trained second opinion would be useful.  If on the other hand, you work 60-80 hours a week, have two soccer games to go to on the weekends, and experience brain fry upon entering a tile showroom, you may want our Full Project package.  We charge a flat fee which covers your complete design cycle, from concepts to permit drawings.  We can also assist with purchasing.
